Behind this family are four young orphaned children who lost their father to cancer. Their mother is now raising them on her own, with their youngest just 1½ years old. When we met 11-year-old Tamer, we asked him a simple question: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Instead of answering, Tamer broke down in tears. Through his tears, he told us that he wanted to be like his father, who worked with a motorbike. His father was more than just the family’s provider—he was Tamer’s hero. At just 11 years old, Tamer is growing up carrying the loss of the person he looked up to most.
