Stop Starvation. Start Restoration.
A child can have a full stomach and still be starving
Nourish Initiative
In Yemen, we kept seeing a heartbreaking pattern: families would receive flour, yet many children were still weak — their growth slowed, and signs of malnutrition were showing.
Why? Because in severe hardship, a child may get enough to fill the stomach but still not get enough to rebuild the body.
🧠 Starvation is not only empty stomachs — it’s missing nutrients.
So we asked ourselves: What are the most essential nutrients a child needs to stay stable — and avoid slipping deeper into malnutrition?
The answer was clear: children need protein for strength and growth, iron for energy, and key nutrients for brain and immune health — the building blocks that help the body recover, not just endure.
What families receive
We designed The Nourish Initiative to deliver those “building blocks” consistently:
-
Eggs + dates as the foundation
-
Plus 1–2 rotating nutrient-rich staples, based on need and availability
(lentils, yogurt, ghee, and meat when funds allow)
This keeps support steady, balanced, and practical — focused on protecting children early, before malnutrition steals their health and potential.

Nourish
Starvation is not only empty stomachs it’s missing nutrients.
We provide the essential building blocks a child’s body needs to recover—protein, iron, and choline—the nutrients that turn mere survival into real strength and healing.
This is not a full grocery shop.
It’s a life-saving nutritional shield, designed to help protect children from slipping deeper into malnutrition.
Why Eggs and Dates?

Nourish
We chose these foods with purpose: they’re gentle, culturally familiar, and nutrient-dense—ideal for children whose bodies are exhausted from hunger.
Dates: Gentle Energy + Vital Minerals
Dates provide quick, natural energy along with key minerals like potassium and magnesium, helping a weakened body regain steadiness and strength.
Eggs: Complete Protein for Growth + Immunity
Eggs provide complete, high-quality protein—the “building material” the body needs to support muscle, growth, and immune defense, especially in children.
Choline: A Nutrient for the Brain
Eggs are also one of the best sources of choline, a nutrient that supports brain development and learning—so a child doesn’t just live, but can truly grow.
What Families Receive
Each family receives eggs and dates as the foundation, then we pair them with one or two rotating nutrient-rich staples—such as lentils, yogurt, ghee, and meat when funds allow—so the support is consistent, balanced, and focused on preventing malnutrition before it steals a child’s future.
Join the Nourish Initiative
With your support, we aim to reach at least 20 families each month, in shaa’ Allah—giving them essentials that help them stabilize, regain strength, and keep going as they strive for a better life.
We’re starting in Al Jawf, with a goal of nourishing at least 20 families each month. As monthly support grows, we hope to expand to other high-need regions—Al Hudaydah and Hajjah—in shaa’ Allah.
$25 covers the minimum essential nourishment a family needs for one full month—designed to help prevent malnutrition.
