This is the family of Birkush Ali — nine orphaned siblings, three of them under the age of 16.
When we first arrived, their exhaustion was overwhelming. Their voices were faint, their eyes dim with fatigue.
Among them was young Nasreen, who recently survived a terrifying ordeal — she was electrocuted.
Though she tried to speak, fear was written all over her face. She now suffers from panic attacks and lives in constant fear, often reliving the trauma.
We provided IV fluids and a month’s supply of food, but this family remains in a fragile state.
They need a helping hand — long enough to nourish them, ease Nasreen’s suffering, and bring them out of danger, by the will of Allah.
